Mario

Mario’s been on SayNow since the fall of last year and has been sending messages out periodically. He just announced though that he’ll be sending updates at least once a week now, so if you’re a fan, you can stay in the loop. (he gave out his number on MTV’s Sucka Free last week and his new album Go is coming out in a couple months at the end of July)

Talib Kweli

Talib Kweli is a legend in the world of rap and hip hop. He’s always got something interesting to say so it’s pretty exciting to know that he now has a SayNow number and plans on using it.

Calling from a landline

A good number of folks are starting to call SayNow numbers from their landlines so thought I’d clarify how SayNow works with landlines.

When you call from a landline you can listen to and send messages anytime. However, you won’t get text messages letting you know when there’s a new message from the person you called. If you want, we can ring your phone when there’s a new message (just call their SayNow number and press 7 to select that option) or we can send you email.

You’ll have to register for a SayNow account to get email but registering is free (and also lets you download messages as MP3s which is pretty cool!)

Bobby Valentino

Bobby Valentino is the latest R&B artist from Def Jam to join SayNow. You can leave him a message and get his broadcasts at (678) 608-0990. He’s got a smooth single out called “Anonymous” featuring Timbaland and his new album “Special Occasion” will be out May 8.

The video for Anonymous debuted on BET’s 106 and Park last Monday!

Baby Boy Da Prince

This is what I’m chillin to right now in the office - Baby Boy Da Prince’sThis is The Way I Live” which he wrote in his post-Katrina FEMA trailer in New Orleans and is #24 on Billboard’s Hot 100 this week. (Sound quality’s not so great from the video but you can hit up his website for better audio). Now I’m craving fried chicken for lunch.

Huey’s Hotttt!!

Huey’s one of our brand new artists and his new single “Pop, Lock & Drop It” is climbing the charts, making it to 38 (from 52 last week) on Billboard’s Hot 100…and all the way to 26 on iTunes’ Top Songs! His debut album Notebook Paper is coming out this summer and you can leave him a message (and also get his new ringtone): (314) 480-4895.

Just in case you missed it…

Keeping It Real

One of our users recently sent us the following text message

How do I no that thoes phone#’s r legit. How do the people no that thoes supposed celeb voices r the real deal. How can u gareentee me…

So, I don’t know whose broadcast this person is subscribed to, but I thought it worthwhile to let everyone know that all the celebrities who have SayNow phone numbers are the real deal. When you call Tyrese’s number or R. Kelly’s number, you’re hearing *their voices.* (unless of course they hand their phone over to someone else…in which case you should be able to tell when someone else is talking!)

That’s what makes us different, I think, from a lot of other services that “famous” people are using to communicate (i.e. text messages, email blasts, MySpace bulletins etc.) You can be pretty sure that it’s an agent, intern, or professional PR person pressing the buttons and sending those messages out. Don’t get me wrong, I think those services serve a purpose and are great for different things… but for people who want to keep it real and who want their supporters to know they’re keeping it real, your voice is unique and a pretty good way to do that.

(btw, you don’t have to be famous to use SayNow, but you do have to be who you say you are to get a phone number from us!)
