The legendary MC Serch interviewed T.I. on his SayNow line this morning as part of his “Inside the Business Tuesday” series for aspiring artists and producers.
Be sure to give him a ring if you want to put in your 2 cents or if you want to hear more perspectives on the ever-evolving landscape of the music industry.
Sweet. Russell from Nice Guys Finish First, recently called one of his fans back and here’s how it turned out. (Apparently she was *just* complaining about how cell phones suck before he called and has since changed her mind :-)
Nice Guys Finish First is actually just one 17 yr old guy (that would be Russell) who lives on Long Island and has built a loyal following on MySpace. In one week over 700 fans called his SayNow number and he’s responded to over 90 of them personally! Go Russell!
Here’s what Ice T said, and here’s Soulja Boy’s response (you can probably skip the stuff before 4:20…when someone tells you to go “eat a *#*” well, it’s hard to not hit back with the same, but if you get to 4:20, he makes some good points).
For those of you who’ve been keeping up with the second season of “A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila” (which airs on Tuesdays at 10pm) Tila sent this message a couple days ago and wants to know why you guys hate Jersey, among other things…
They were giving them out last night and if you got this message on your phone (and you lived near Myrtle Beach), then you could have been one of the lucky ones who got to see em!
Also, Menudo’s going to be using SayNow while they’re on the road to send photos from their phones to yours.
Yep that’s right, they’re gonna be their own paparazzi…so you’ll be getting ALL your Menudo goodness STRAIGHT FROM THE SOURCE.Here’s the first pic they sent.
Jesse McCartney sent a message this morning. His new album is coming out tomorrow and it’s going to be HOT. Not only is his single “Leavin” in the Top 10 on Billboard and iTunes, but he also co-wrote Leona Lewis‘ current Top 10 hit “Bleeding Love“!
I’m obviously biased here but I think Rooney has the best album title ever. Here’s the title track which you can actually download for free if you picked up a download card at one of their shows. It’s awesome! (and that’s my non-biased voice speaking :)
What’s it like to write a mega-selling memoir, then become a household word for “liar”? Was James Frey’s A Million Little Pieces an ex-junkie’s con job, part of a proud literary tradition, or just the standard hype of an increasingly embattled publishing industry? In his first U.S. interview since Oprah nailed him, in 2006, Frey tells his version of the story…
While the Vanity Fair piece is the first interview he’s done since 2006, you can actually hear directly from him by calling. He’ll be sending updates about his upcoming book and whatever else he wants to talk about.
You can also listen to messages other people have been sending him over here.
Ryan Leslie is a super talented songwriter and producer who’s going to be releasing his own album in June. He’s worked with artists like Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Cassie, Danity Kane, Diddy, Snoop Dogg, Donell Jones, Katharine McPhee, New Edition and Usher…so it’s not surprising that when people call and hear his message on SayNow, they go into full-on-American-Idol-mode! Here’s his message…
A Duke University class is going to Southern High School once a week to help ESL students with their schoolwork - in addition to meeting with them, they’re using SayNow to send broadcasts and to encourage discussion and feedback.
Monica sent a broadcast last night with updates on her upcoming album and what’s been goin on in her life. She also promises to keep us updated more regularly from now on.
Listen to these - so awesome! Lost Ocean has been doing what they call “cellcasts” where they include messages from their fans and answer questions in their broadcasts - kinda like a mini-radio-show.
